I hired Damien Deazley of Higgins Hollywood Deazley solicitors to make a compensation claim for an injury I sustained as the result of a road traffic accident caused by a careless driver a number of years ago. The process was extremely slow, taking 2 years to get to court. Before the hearing he summoned me to his office for a briefing, but I came away feeling that I had been told next to nothing.On the day of the hearing I was interviewed by a barrister outside the court who asked a number of questions pertaining to details of the accident. I answered these questions to the best of my ability, and was then told that I should accept an offer of £2000 made by the insurance company of the driver who caused the accident, and as an out of court settlement. The reason being that the barrister felt I would not \"fare well\" under questioning in court. The maximum compensation I could have been awarded in court was £3000, and it is my firm belief that if the solicitor Damien Deazley had made me aware of and adequately prepared me for the type of questioning that I was subjected to by the barrister, I could have easily gone into court and been awarded the full compensation amount which I was entitled to. But because he did not prepare me at all, I had no option but to walk away from court with £1000 less than I was due. On their website it clearly states that \"your case will be handled by an experienced solicitor who will obtain the maximum amount of compensation available to you\". In my experience this is not true, and I shall not be using the misleading and mediocre services of Higgins Hollywood Deazley solicitors again....
